What We Do
Community Life-Saving Early Warnings and Protection (Free Public Service)
Safe Kinga’s core mission is safeguarding communities through a robust multi-hazard early warning system. We provide real-time alerts for floods, droughts, and disease outbreaks, ensuring timely action to protect lives and livelihoods.
Our flood detection and forecasting service combines river-level monitoring with rainfall and soil data, providing 24 hours advance warnings. Urban flood mapping supports informal settlements, while coastal alerts cover risks such as tsunamis and storm surges. For drought, we analyze rainfall deficits, soil moisture, vegetation health, and water sources to forecast shortages before they reach crisis levels.
On the health front, Safe Kinga integrates climate and disease data to track outbreaks of malaria, cholera, and Rift Valley Fever, combining epidemic risk mapping with health facility reports. Communities also receive tailored prevention guidelines.
Our localization technology makes these services hyper-precise—alerts can target specific villages, community boundaries, and elevation-based risk zones. To ensure inclusivity, warnings are issued in English, Kiswahili, and major local dialects, supported by icons and voice messages for low-literacy users.
Safe Kinga’s multi-channel notification system uses SMS, in-app alerts, group messaging for community leaders, and even offline capabilities for low-connectivity areas. Alerts are color-coded by risk level—from advisory notices (green/yellow) to imminent danger warnings (orange/red). Communities also receive step-by-step evacuation guidance, emergency contacts, and access to a community verification system where local members validate alerts and share real-time updates.
